home sweet home

 my first succulent garden was stolen in san francisco. hopefully no one will take this one. 

 

our new home in LA. we love it. 

 

it's been 3 months since we've moved down to LA from SF and so far it's been going well. tim loves that his brother is near by and enjoys going over to my parents house for dinner (we live 5 min away from them). the fun part about moving into a new space is decorating it. since we're tight on money we had to get furniture from secondhand stores, craigslist or purchase ikea furniture and just fab it up with some paint and wood stain. we got the pietre sofa on craigslist for half the original price and a george nelsonesque bench for dirt cheap. i love it!

Back in LA

Loving the colors in this picture. The fountain is located in Barcelona and called Magic Fountain. It wasn't so magical, I like the water show at Bellagio in Vegas better than the one in the picture.
The colors remind me of a Mark Rothko painting.

I'm back in LA now. We still miss San Francisco A LOT, but it's nice being near family.

Nom nom nom

Trying to be healthy these days. I made baked salmon, zucchini/potato/onion pesto gratin sans cream and butter and tomato, cucumber, avocado salad with shaved bonito flakes and miso dressing. It was all very light and delicious.

this blog is dead

I've been terrible about blogging. I first started this blog to document my life here in San Francisco as a way for my friends and family back home to see what I'm up to etc. I've totally neglected this blog.

Off topic...I'm totally on a burger kick. I can't stop thinking about burgers. I tried Umami Burger in LA this past weekend and I'm craving it right now. It was juicy and greasy, just the way it should be. I liked their thick, thrice fried french fries (wordy, I know). The homemade tomato ketchup was good too, it's not as tangy as Heinz.
